I began my activity in 1993, during my training period I came into contact with numerous blacksmiths on the European scene such as Alfred Habermann, George Pletshacher, Gabbriele Curtolo, Claudio Bottero and I attended training centres such as the ‘Helfštýn Castle’ in the Czech Republic.

In 1997 I was joined in the business by my brother Jadran, with whom I founded the Artestenico Studio Associato. The collaboration will end in January 2015.

My artistic and professional activity is characterised by continuous research and the study of techniques and forms, which has enabled me to develop a personal and modern style that successfully brings this ancient craft up to date.

A third-generation son of art, he has been passionate about metalworking since a young age. Growing up in his father’s blacksmith’s workshop, he learned forging techniques handed down over time.

His ever-increasing interest led him to deepen his knowledge and experiment with new forging techniques using different metals, and his curiosity led him to start a personal research path focused on metal layering called Mokume Gane.

He took part in various public forging events and demonstrations in Italy and abroad. After a few years, he manages to set up his own workshop and starts producing jewellery, sculptures and other objects.

Niko Giordani becomes an expert in the field, publishing several articles where he explains his techniques, and obtains great satisfaction from his work, also holding master classes in Australia and the United States.

Already as a child he frequented his father’s workshop, for him a fascinating alternative space to play. In 1998, he opened his first workshop for working with wrought iron and began to take part in exhibitions and performances, meeting and exchanging ideas with various master craftsmen, sculptors and artists.

The skills and experience he has acquired allow and induce him to move into the world of art and therefore his work takes on the characteristic of Design, always using fire as a tool to transform the material.

In addition to metal, Roberto uses other materials such as wood, cement and ceramics. Using recycled materials and using an artistic language and expression confirms his sensitivity towards safeguarding the planet, an aspect that his poetics explicitly includes in all his art.

His works are exhibited in Taiwan, Thailand, Australia, England, Spain, Czech Republic, Belgium, Sweden, Morocco, Germany, U.S.A. and in Italian cities.
